Grundy County SWCD to hold used oil drive

Published: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 2:16 p.m. CDT

Have you recently changed the oil or looking for a place to safely dispose of that used oil stockpile in your garage?

The Grundy County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will hold its annual used oil drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, 2013.  It will be held at the USDA Service Center parking lot located at 3605 N. Illinois 47, Morris, at the northwest corner of Illinois 47 and Southmor Road.

Participants will be asked to drop off their used oil and are required to take their containers home with them.  They can be used to collect oil for next year’s oil drive.

Please do not bring gas or paint thinner as these will not be accepted. However, antifreeze and used oil filters will be accepted but, must be kept separate from the oil.

If you have any questions, call the Grundy County SWCD, (815) 942-0359, ext. 3, to speak with Brooke or Natalie.
