JOLIET, Ill. — The Mich-ael Koolidge Show has added two new stations to its daily syndication roster. Beginning officially this week, the show will air regularly on Joliet’s 1340 WJOL at 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and in Decatur on TALK 101 FM (WZUS) at noon, daily, in addition to weekends.

“We’re very pleased to be adding The Michael Koolidge Show to our programming at 6 p.m. every night,” Scott Slocum, program director and morning host at Will County’s News-Talk-Sports 1340 WJOL, said. “Mike brings A-list guests and a national feel to our evening lineup, while also keeping it ‘local’ with an Illinois focus, which our listeners love.”

The show is now on in almost all major regions of the state of Illinois, and continues to top the ratings in its time slot on the station in its largest market, Rockford’s 1440 WROK.

“I’m honored to be on such fine radio stations as Talk 101 FM in Decatur and Will County’s News-Talk-Sports WJOL in Joliet,” Koolidge said.

“Whether you’re listening during lunch or driving home from work, we’re going to continue to provide as much good radio as we can for listeners throughout the state, free of charge, every single day.” In recent weeks, the show has featured guests like CNN’s Jake Tapper, TV producer Mark Burnett, and A-list actress Eva Longoria.

In addition to regular statewide Illinois newsmakers and journalists, the show this fall will mark the fourth consecutive year of regular, bi-weekly interviews with our military men and women serving in uniform on the ground in Afghanistan (the first three years the show spoke with soldiers regularly in Iraq).

Says Koolidge:  “With WJOL broadcasting to an area of over 300,000 people (including most of South and West Chicagoland), added to Decatur’s reach of over 100,000 in Macon County alone, we now broadcast to pretty much all of the major geographic areas in Illinois, with a population base totaling well over a million people. Basically, about the size of the city of Dallas, Texas... but no, we’re not moving to Texas. Sorry, Governor Perry.”

The Michael Koolidge Show is also inviting the public to an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new studios in downtown Rochelle, Ill., at 401 N. 6th St. Thursday, May 23rd at 5:30 pm. The ribbon cutting will be followed by a cocktail reception and prize giveaway, including an iPad mini, a stay at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena, and a jump at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center.

Later that evening, at 8 p.m., there will be an after-party at The Flight Deck Bar and Grill located at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center, 1207 West Gurler Road, also in Rochelle.
