A settlement was reached earlier this month between Harvey Shell, as administrator of the estate of Mildred L. Shell, and Prism Healthcare Group.

Harvey Shell, on behalf of Mildred L. Shell, was suing Prism for abuse and negligence of Mildred Shell. The case has since been dismissed pursuant to a settlement.

According to the case file, on Aug. 18, 2009, the family of the deceased visited her at the Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and found her to be ill.

The family then took her to Morris Hospital Emer-gency Room, where she was diagnosed with right lower lobe pneumonia, urosepsis, urinary tract infection, dehydration with prerenal azotemia, toxic medibolic encephalopathy, anorexia, type 2 non-insulin dependent diabetes, chronic weight loss, hypoalbuminemia and history of a cerebrovascular accident with residual right hemiparesis.

As a result of the alleged abuse and neglect, Mildred Shell died. Her estate administrator was suing for an excess of $50,000 for expenses, pain and suffering.
