A Plainfield man was cited Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Coal City that sent a Morris woman to the hospital.

According to Grundy County Sheriff Kevin Callahan, William Wagg was eastbound on Illinois 113 in a Chevy Monte Carlo, approaching the intersection of Gorman Road.

Wagg signaled and began to turn left onto Gorman as the Morris woman, driving a Honda Civic, was driving west on Illinois 113.

The woman was extricated from her vehicle by the Coal City Fire District and transported by ambulance to Morris Hospital, according to Coal City Fire Spokesperson Nicholas Doerfler.

Wagg refused ambulance service on the scene.

Wagg was cited for failure to yield, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a June 3 court date.
