Carus Corporation names Kuzy chief operating officer

PERU, Ill. — Carus Corporation, a leading global provider of innovative environmental solutions, is pleased to announce Dave Kuzy has joined Carus as chief operating officer, effective May 1.

Kuzy brings with him more than 20 years of chemical industry experience. He most recently served as vice president of Albemarle Corporation’s Hydroprocessing Catalyst Division. 

Kuzy succeeds Gerald Curran, Carus’s previous COO. Curran, who joined Carus in 2008 as its chief financial officer, will remain with Carus through the remainder of 2013 as he transitions responsibilities to Kuzy.

Kuzy began his career as a chemical engineer with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and later held commercial positions of increasing responsibility for Mallinckrodt Specialty Chem-ical Company and Engelhard Corporation (now BASF).

Kuzy joined specialty chemical company Albemarle Corporation in 2008 and served as its vice president of North American sales. In 2010, he was appointed vice president for Europe, Russia and Africa, responsible for directing all activities in those regions.

Kuzy is a graduate of the University of Akron, where he received his master’s of business administration in Finance. He also holds a bachelor of science in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from The University of Pittsburgh.
