‘Charlie Brown’ is coming to the area

NEWARK — Tri County Players of Newark is preparing for the upcoming show and fundraiser, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” the Broadway Musical.

What has become a favorite for all ages, this show will be full of music, humor and insight, and will tackle childhood’s memorable moments that made Charles M.  Schulz’ “Peanuts” characters a part of all our lives.

Will this be the day that Charlie Brown actually flies his kite? Can Linus give up his blanket? Will Schroeder give in to Lucy’s romantic advances? The result is a wonderful family musical that could only have sprung from the mind of Schulz.

Performances will be held at the Millington Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16.

The show will serve as a major fundraising event for the Millington Methodist Church and Fern Dell Historic Association. Attendees will enjoy a an entertaining performance plus light refreshments and dessert at intermission.
