Channahon set to honor veterans

CHANNAHON — The village of Channahon Memorial Day Service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, May 27. It will be held outside in front of the village hall, 24555 S. Navajo Dr., and seating will be provided.

The Channahon Junior High Band will play patriotic music and Sam Ingold, from Minooka Community High School, will sing the National Anthem.  Anthony Babich will play Taps. The Channahon Police Honor Guard will also be present.

Pastor Hans Fiene from the River of Life Lutheran Church will be giving the invocation. The speaker will be Detective Adam Bogart from the Channahon Police Department.

Tina Zugel, the village’s Citizen of the Year, will have the honor of placing the wreath on the memorial. Little Miss Channahon Anna McClimon and her court will also be participants in the event, as will Cub Scout Pack 444.
