Churches gearing up for VBS

The First United Methodist Church of Morris, 118 W. Jackson St., invites children who have completed 3-year-old preschool through fifth grade to join in Vacation Bible School.

From 9 a.m. to noon each day, June 10 – 14, the church will host “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together” Vacation Bible School.

At “Everywhere Fun Fair,” the children will experience God’s welcoming love through dramas, crafts, games, science activities, music and hours of fun!.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church of Morris is presenting Collosal Coastal World Vacation Bible School at 1650 West U.S. 6, Morris, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening, June 17-21.

Classes are for preschool through 5th graders. Come join us as we are facing fear and trusting God!

Grace Lutheran

Grace Lutheran Church, 10025 N. Illinois 47, Morris, invites children to Tell It on the Mountain VBS.

The week will take children on an expedition to the tops of five mountains and teach them more about God’s might and grace and His Son, Jesus, our Savior and Lord.

The adventure runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each evening, June 17-21. Registration is open for ages 3 (potty-trained) through those who have completed fifth grade.

Get excited to sing fun songs, do crazy crafts, eat yummy snacks and more. Plus, you’ll learn all about Jesus so that you can go tell everyone about Him.

Coal City Area

Coal City United Meth-odist Church and New Hope Presbyterian Church of Coal City invite children to “Kingdom Rock:  Where Kids Stand Strong for God” Vacation Bible School.

The summer event for kids will be hosted at Coal City United Methodist Church, located at 6805 E. McArdle Road, Coal City. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day from June 17- 21.

At Kingdom Rock VBS, faith and imagination soar as kids stand strong for God through songs, games, treats, experiments,and Bible activities. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.

Each day concludes with a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.
Kingdom Rock is for kids from preschool to fifth grade. Individuals going into sixth grade or older are invited to be crew leaders at VBS.

Stone Hill Bible Church

VBS Kids Camp will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each day, June 17 - 21, at Stone Hill Bible Church.
The annual Vacation Bible School is open to potty-trained children as young as 3, through fifth grade.

There is no cost to attend.

First Presbyterian

“Athens VBS” is coming to First Presbyterian Church, Morris, June 24-28.

Pre-registration for the annual Vacation Bible School is due by June 10.

While meeting from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day of the adventure, children from age 4 (potty-trained) through fifth grade will follow Paul’s dangerous journey to share the truth.

Channahon UMC

Channahon United Meth-odist Church will host ‘Kingdom Rocks’ Vacation Bible School this summer.

Free for everyone, VBS will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each evening from Sunday , July 21, through Thursday, July  25.

VBS is open to students from age 3, provided they are potty trained, through fifth grade. Parents, other adults, and older kids are welcome to join the fun as crew leaders or station helpers.

At Kingdom Rock VBS,  kids enter an epic adventure that empowers them to stand strong for God.  Here, God’s victorious power isn’t a fairy tale – it changes kids forever.
