PURCELLVILLE, Va. — Mrs. Brenda Jo (Haldorson) Miner, 55, died peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va. She fought a short battle with a very aggressive and rare form of cancer
Her life was her children, her grandchildren and children in general. Her favorite jobs were as a teaching assistant for first-graders at North School in Londonderry, N.H. and her recent babysitting position in Purcellville, Va.
Brenda's favorite vacation spot was at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, where she could enjoy the outdoors with dear friends from Londonderry, N.H. Her friends all say that Brenda lit up the room whenever she was present.
Brenda was raised in Morris, Ill., and is a 1975 graduate of Morris Community High School. She will be missed and forever loved by family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Dan Miner of Purcellville, Va.; her son, Ryan (Molly) Rozich of Austin, Texas; her son, Logan Miner of Parkersburg, W.V.; her daughter, Natalie Miner, who will be attending her first year at the University of Virginia Nursing School in 2013; and her granddaughter, Sloane Rozich.
Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Robert Haldorson; her parents Robert and Genevieve Haldorson; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for friends in Virginia will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, Va A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Purcellville.
Visitation for family and friends in Illinois will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington St. (one block east of Illinois 47) in Morris, and again from 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15 until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 805 Western Ave., in Joliet, Ill.
For those preferring to offer a memorial in lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Purcellville or First Presbyterian Church of Joliet are appreciated.
