An assortment of rides are set to entertain local residents this week as the annual Firemen’s Carnival will be held Tuesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 15.

Luehrs’ Ideal Rides returns to Morris for the 2013 season. The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District has used the carnival to raise funds for many years.

Both the Jungle Twist Coaster and Starship will be featured during the Morris Firemen’s Carnival, which opens tonight, Tuesday, June 11, and continues to Saturday, June 15, in the parking lot at Morris Community High School.

Times are 6 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The Jungle Twist has individual cars that spin in different directions and in different speeds as they travel around the track. The Starship uses centrifugal force to float passengers off the floor giving the feeling of weightlessness.

Luehrs’ Ideal Rides offers a wide variety of kiddie rides, family rides and adult attractions. The Egyptian-themed Pharaoh’s Fury Swinging Ship, the Rower Ride, Avalanche and the Super Fun Slide are among the thrilling rides that aim to entertain one and all. The entire family can also enjoy a whacky walk through the brand new Magic Maze Glass House.

All of the attractions are operated by employees that are pre-employment drug tested, undergo a national background check and are trained. There are also full-time staff members that have received the same training as state inspectors. Safety is the No. 1 priority at Luehrs’ Ideal Rides. Visit www.luehrs.com. for more information.
