Farmers interested in running for open director positions with the Illinois Soybean Board (ISB) have the option to be a write-in candidate for the six open Illinois districts.
The deadline to request declaration of intent form to be a write-in candidate is June 25, 2013.
Letters of request should be sent to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Attn. Bob Reese, POB 19281, Springfield, IL 62794-9281, or Bob.Reese@illinois.gov.
From the six district’s, the immediate area includes: District 4: Bureau, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle.
To be eligible to serve as a director, a candidate must be an Illinois resident and a resident grower of the district he or she seeks to represent, of legal voting age and a contributor to the soybean checkoff.
Elections will be held July 2, 2013, at county extension offices in the districts where vacancies exist. Directors will begin three-year terms, Aug. 1, 2013.
