Liberty 5K run plans to be fun, patriotic

Start Independence Day festivities early this year with some good fun and exercise. On July 3, the Grundy County Farm Bureau Foundation and the Morris Downtown Development Partnership will host the 4th annual Liberty 5K Run/Walk back to downtown Morris.

Beginning at Liberty and Jefferson streets, the course will take runners through Nostalgic Downtown Morris, area parks, neighborhoods and returns downtown on Liberty Street.

The course is completely paved, primarily flat, with some slight hills for a fast and enjoyable race. The Liberty 5K is a chip-timed race on a certified course.

The event honors, supports and recognizes our military personnel Local Marines will join the run while singing cadence.
