Mrs. Inez A. Delockery, 90, of Morris, Ill., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Born on May 7, 1923, in Morris, where she resided her entire life, she was the daughter of Carl and Helen (Sampson) Oswood.
On Jan. 5, 1946, she married Thomas Delockery. They had three children, Susan (Ron) Heap, Debra (Steve) Ness and Gary (Sonia) Delockery; four grandsons, Jon (Diane) Brisbin, Deron (Stephanie) Heap, Jason (Shannon) Delockery, and Carl Delockery; four great-grandchildren, Jacob (Wendy) Brisbin, Ethan and Rachel Heap, and Connor Delockery; and a great-great-grandson, Wyatt Brisbin.
After she married her high school sweetheart, Tom, they began a farming career on the family Centennial farm, “Hearts Delight,” where they raised their family and of which she continued to be an active part. Inez always enjoyed being part of the active farm life and her family will always remember her sitting on the porch swing, from the first warm day of spring until the last leaf would fall in autumn, overseeing all that was going on.
In addition to farming, they also owned and managed Delockery Rentals for over 45 years. Over the years, they made many lifelong friends through their rentals.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; a daughter, Susan Heap; brothers Truman and Cleon Oswood; and sisters JeVerna Burt and Ethel Gregoire.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Morris Hospital Volunteer Bus Transportation would be appreciated.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no services.
