Morris Hospital has expanded the availability of medical services at its Dwight and Gardner Healthcare Centers with the addition of Kathy Ulivi, a certified family nurse practitioner.
At the Dwight Healthcare Center, Ulivi joins Dr. Mark Passerman, while, at the Gardner Healthcare Center, she joins Dr. Jennifer Thomas.
Dr. Passerman and Dr. Thomas are both family medicine physicians.
Nurse practitioners are specialized nurses who have completed extensive additional education and training and have a significantly expanded scope of practice.
Ulivi holds a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, allowing her to order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose disease, provide appropriate treatments, and prescribe medications.
She sees patients of all ages and is qualified to serve as patients’ primary health care provider.
Ulivi says she encourages her patients to participate in developing their plan of care, encompassing all aspects of physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
Ulivi received her bachelor’s of nursing and master’s of nursing education degrees from Lewis University in Romeoville. She also holds a master’s of nursing family nurse practitioner degree from Olivet Nazarene Univer-sity.
