Nancy L. Norris

DIAMOND, Ill. — Mrs. Nancy L. Norris, 66, of Diamond, Ill., and formerly of Morris, Ill., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Morris Hospital.

Born Dec. 23, 1946, in Felicity, Ohio, Nancy was a daughter of H. Dale and Julia Jeanette Bowyer-Dick. She was raised in Ohio and worked as a CNA, most recently at the Grundy County Home in Morris. Nancy was a member of First Christian Church in Morris, and will be remembered for her love of sewing and cross-stitch.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, whom she married Aug. 6, 1976, in Morris; seven children, Desmond (Cristina) Norris of Streator, Ill., Deserae (Scott) Carlson of Plano, Ill., Robert (Karen) Norris Jr. of Streator, Arthur (Maria) Day and Carl Lee (Ruth) Day, both of Ohio, Bernice (Steve) Cosmah of Kentucky, and Tony Day of Texas; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother and sisters Patricia (Dean) Derby of Camargo, Ill., Ed (Erla) Dick of Amelia, Ohio, and Robin Walsh of Verona, Ill; her mother-in-law, Christine Norris of Morris; brothers- and sisters-in-law Linda Rossio of Joliet, Ill., William (Marsha) Norris of Morris, Nancy (Robert) Krug of Morris, Thomas (Joann) Norris of San Antonio, Texas, and Jeff Norris of Fond Du Lac, Wis.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, H. Dale Dick and Judy Shew; and her father-in-law, Noah Norris.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services per the request of Nancy. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Nancy’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
