The Morris Hospital Auxiliary is hosting its 45th annual Charity Ball on Saturday, July 27, exactly 45 years to the date of the very first Morris Hospital Auxiliary Ball back in 1968.
This year’s “Bella Notte”-themed ball will be held at the historic Patrick C. Haley Mansion in Joliet. Proceeds will benefit Morris Hospital’s Flood Recovery and Prevention Fund.
“This is a very exciting year for the Auxiliary as we celebrate this wonderful tradition that has been faithfully supported by our community for 45 years,” says Hannah Wehrle, development officer at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers.
“Over the years, proceeds from the Ball have enabled the hospital to make special purchases and offer services that may not have otherwise been possible.”
The Ball will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and array of passed hors d’oeuvres. Approximately 20 items and packages donated by local businesses and individuals will be featured during the silent auction.
At 7 p.m., guests will move into the ballroom for a filet mignon dinner served with julienne of garden batonettes, along with a citrus and walnut salad and a trio of mousse. A vegetarian selection will also be available.
A live auction of nearly a dozen items will follow dinner, including tickets to major Chicago sporting events, a trip for two to the Country Music Awards in Nashville, and an Africa photo safari trip. Guests can enjoy dancing in an outdoor, air-conditioned tent to music provided by the Chicago Groove Collective.
The ball is organized by a committee of community volunteers, including Kathy and Steve Barr, Debbie Bols, Kelly Bols, Barb Boma, Sandy Cannon, Becky DiVincenzo, Mary Jo Enrietta, Jessica Fox, Sheila Funk, Dana Grunwald, Nikki Jackson, Heidi Lawton, Tyla Ledvina, Karen McCluckie, Mary Olson, Lori Ortinau, Judie Roth, Mary Michael Roth, Debbie Scuteri-Svab, Cheryl Tesdal, Tory Tesdal, Julie Wilkinson and Tracy Zabel.
Reservations are $150 per person, with seating available in tables of 12. Reservations can be made online at www.morrishospital/ball or by calling Hannah Wehrle at (815) 705-7021.
