A McLean County family is suing Minooka Community High School District 111 and Channahon School District 17 for damages after a Jan. 12 injury.

James and Maria Hogan are suing the school districts for more than $50,000 each.

The Hogans were at a wrestling event at Mi- nooka’s south campus to watch their son participate in a match hosted by Channahon Junior High School.

To accommodate the event, the high school expanded the collapsable bleacher system, according to the case file. It is believed the bleachers were not fully expanded.

Due to the bleachers not being properly expanded, James Hogan fell and, therefore, the case file states, the districts were negligent in failing to fully expand and lock the bleacher system.

As a result James Hogan suffered back, leg, knee, ankle and feet injuries. In addition, he has suffered anxiety, nervousness and changes in his personality.

He is suing for medical bills and loss of wages due to diminished capacity for work.

James Hogan’s wife, Maria Hogan, is also suing because she is deprived of society, services, support, and companionship from her husband.
