Mrs. Ruth A. Lines, 76, of Morris, Ill., passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born Nov. 23, 1936, in Morris, she was the daughter of the late Chester and LaVerne (Leach) Kindlespire. She was educated in the Morris schools, and attended Morris High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1954.

On April 9, 1954, she married Larry Lines, and all who knew them noted they were basically inseparable from that day on.

Ruth was very proud of her family heritage. She was raised in the home that her father built near Stratton Park. She worked as a clerk at Baum’s department store for many years. She also worked in the driver’s license bureau when it was still located in the basement of the courthouse, as well as the Bridal Garden in Morris and Tina’s Shape Shop. Ruth also volunteered her time as an election judge.

She took great pleasure in following her children and her grandchildren through school events and their extracurricular activities, including baseball, tennis, basketball, football, dance recitals, and plays. Ruth was especially fond of attending “Grandparents’ Day” at school with Larry.

She was also an avid Morris Redskin fan. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, the First Christian Church, and the IHOP breakfast club. Additionally, Ruth enjoyed her morning walks.

Surviving is her husband, Larry; her four children, all of Morris, Pamela (Andrew) Chandler, Doug (Donna) Lines, Mark (Chris) Lines, and Greg (Joan) Lines; grandchildren Jennifer (Ken) Cox of Morris, Laura (Doug) Roth of Bloomingdale, Jeff (Courtney) Chandler of New Lenox, Paul (girlfriend Elizabeth) Lines of Morris, Chet (Stephanie) Lines of Morris, Eric (girlfriend Krissy Bergquist) Lines of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Trevor, Leah, Jared, and Grace Lines of Morris; great-grandchildren Henry and James Chandler, Nicholas and Nate Cox, and Aubrey and Kinsley Lines; and her faithful dog, Patsy.

Also surviving are one sister, Alice (Dean) Jacobson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Betty Olson, Marie Atckinson, and Charles Kindlespire.
