Wilma Maxine Glenn

CHATHAM, Ill. — Mrs. Wilma Maxine Glenn, 94, of Chatham, Ill., died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her residence.

Born on Nov. 24, 1918, to the late Mark and Nora Corder Starks, she married Carl O. Glenn on June 22, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her son, Jerry L. Glenn; one sister, Wanda; and four brothers, Don, Ray, Russ, and John.

Mrs. Glenn was a farmer’s wife and also worked for Avon in the manufacturing plant in Morton Grove, Ill., for 23 1/2 years. She enjoyed reading and watching TV, and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Heider of Chatham; grandchildren Julie Ann Bentley, Tina (Bob) Fontana, and Kimberly Hoshell; great-grandchildren Ashley Heaney, Justin Fontana, Kelli Herbert, Christina O’Boyle, and Sarah and Raymond Hoshell; two brothers, Robert Starks and Dale (Barbara) Starks, all of Morris, Ill.; and her sister-in-law, Marie Starks, near Morris.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Ward Cemetery near Verona, Ill., with Paula Staab Polk as funeral celebrant.
