BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — Mr. Buel E. Taylor, 98, formerly of Minooka, Ill., and Joliet, Ill., passed away with his loving family by his side Sunday evening, July 14, 2013, at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., Morris. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will also be on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 13, 1914, in Mazon, Ill., he was the son of Harvey and Ora (Steele) Taylor. He received his education in the schools of Mazon.
Buel married Patricia Cromwell on Nov. 25, 1936, at Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, Ill., and they lived most of their married life in Minooka and Joliet. He farmed in the Minooka area, and also was employed at U.S. Steel Company in Joliet.
He enjoyed fishing, socializing, spending time with his family and granddaughter and great-grandson.
Survivors include one son, Dr. David (Macey) Taylor of Joliet; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Joseph) Furlane of Shorewood, Ill.; one great-grandson, Lucas Furlane; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Struck, in Morris; good friends the Konieczny family; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Patricia, on Feb. 26, 1991; one daughter in infancy; two brothers; and two sisters.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood.
