Lillian B. Moe

NEWARK, Ill. — Mrs. Lillian B. Moe, 91, of Newark, Ill., passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.

Born on July 27, 1921, in Ottawa, Ill., the daughter of Louis and Blanche (Ask) Knudsen, Lillian was united in marriage on Jan. 4, 1947, at the Olaf Lutheran Church in Aurora to Harold Moe. They spent 12 happy years together, until his passing on Aug. 29, 1958.

She was a member for 50 years of the West Lisbon Church in Newark.

Mrs. Moe was employed, for many years, as a beautician. Additionally, she and her husband, Harold, farmed for several years and, after his passing, she continued farming.

Lillian was a member of the Kendall County Farm Bureau. She was also a member of Friends of the Charles B. Phillip’s Library in Newark, as well as the Sons of Norway.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Nels (Terri) Moe of Newark, Benjamin (Regina) Moe of Yorkville, Ill., Bess (Mark) Christian, of Newark, Bernie (Leann) Moe of Oswego, Ill., and Steve Moe of Newark; her 10 grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her sister, Vi (Bob) Ross of Aurora; her aunt, Kari Rice, of Yorkville; her brother-in-law, Fred Neubauer of Aurora; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her son, John Moe; her sisters, Gladys Schmedeke, Marge Smith and Beverly Neubauer; and her brothers, LeRoy, Clifford and Stener Knudsen.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at West Lisbon Church, 14381 Joliet Road, Newark, with the Rev. Steve Lombardo officiating. Interment will follow in the Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, Ill.

Friends may visit from 3 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville.
