Skateboarder in critical condition after fall

Morris man airlifted from Minooka Sunday evening

MINOOKA — A Morris man is in critical condition following a skateboarding accident in Minooka Sunday night, according to Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer.

The 19-year-old was skateboarding down a hill on Rivers Edge Drive, at Northfield Drive, around 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

He fell and sustained head trauma, according to Meyer.

He was transported by helicopter from Minooka Community High School Central Campus to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

A spokesperson from Good Samaritan confirmed the man was in critical condition as of Monday afternoon, but did not comment on the type of of injuries sustained.
