Joliet Hospice’s Kasper selected to serve on state advisory council

Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka has formed a new nonprofit advisory council.

The CEO of Joliet Area Community Hospice, Rick Kasper, was appointed to this council.

Kasper will join 16 other members from a variety of nonprofits from across the state. 

According to the comptroller’s office, the council will meet regularly to discuss funding for service organizations and ways to address the fiscal challenges facing nonprofits in Illinois.

“This is a great honor and we are extremely lucky for Joliet Area Community Hospice to be represented at a state-wide level.  Way to go, Rick!,” a press release from the organization announcing Kasper’s selection states.

Joliet Area Community Hospice has been providing compassionate, professional care to terminally ill patients and their families in the area since 1982.

It is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that is state-licensed, Medicare/Medicaid-certified and supported by United Way of Will and Grundy Counties.

The hospice servespatients in greater Will, Grundy, and Kendall counties, along with portions of Cook, DuPage and Kankakee counties.
