We Care reaps benefits for Century 21 cookout

On Thursday, June 27, Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby hosted its annual fundraising cookout during Liberty Days.

The meal featured mouth-watering rib-eye steak or pork chop sandwiches and jumbo hot dogs.

Due to the rousing success of previous years, a drive-through service was also provided.

The beneficiary for the cookout was We Care of Grundy County and this year over $2,400 was raised, which was a record high.

“We Care thanks Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby for choosing us as the beneficiary and thanks all those who purchased sandwiches… which sold out by 5 p.m.,” said Denise Gaska, executive director of We Care.

We Care is a local nonprofit agency that provides emergency assistance to Grundy County residents in the form of food, rent, utility and prescription assistance.

We Care is a United Way partner agency and is funded primarily by private donations.
