NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Withey, age 64, a longtime resident of Naperville, Ill., passed away at her home, while surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was born Aug. 8, 1948, in Chicago.

Mary is survived by her cherished husband of 45 years, Mark; her daughters, Christine (Christopher) Bajuyo of Naperville, and Carolyn Withey of Mount Prospect, Ill.; her cherished grandchildren, Braden and Caleb Bajuyo; her mother, Mary Jane Beckman of Naperville; her siblings, William Kohl, Jane (Byron) Hadley, Peter (Cindy) Kohl, Joseph (Anna) Kohl and Lawrence (Gaylynn) Kohl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a lifetime of good friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John J. Kohl; her step-father, William C. Beckman; and her brother, John P. Kohl.

Mary was a graduate of Palatine High School with the Class of 1966. She met the love of her life, Mark, while they were working together at their job at Bruning Corp., and they were married on July 13, 1968.

Mary was a fantastic baker and made the best cookies. She was an excellent cook and was always the last to sit down at the table. Mary enjoyed decorating her home and toiling in her perfect gardens, and somehow made housework look so effortless. She loved animals, especially her rescued dachshunds, and always welcomed new pets into her home.

She was your true friend and put great thought into giving the perfect gifts. Mary was very well respected by her co-workers at Central DuPage Hospital as the supervisor of Accounts Payable. She enjoyed to travel and loved to let the beach melt all of life’s cares away.

Above all else, Mary was a devoted wife, a loving mother and an adoring grandmother and her family was — and will remain — the most important treasure she possessed.

For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Mary’s life, memorials to either ADOPT, ASPCA or the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
