E-waste collection offered on Saturday

On Saturday, Aug. 10, Grundy County will host an E-Waste collection event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Diamond Village Hall, 1750 East Division St., Diamond.

This event is open to both residents and businesses. This event will take place rain or shine. Volunteers will be there to transfer all of your used electronics from your vehicle.

Acceptable items include televisions, computers and accessories, monitors, printers, printer cartridges, laptops and laptop accessories, hard drives, power cables, networking equipment, fax machines, copiers, cell phones and phones, CD players, DVD/VHS video players, electronic games, UPS’s, MP3’s, and PSP’s and microwaves.

You do not have to be a Grundy County resident to participate in this event.

Wendy’s Cruisers gather on Mondays

The Wendy’s Cruisers are having their 8th year of antique car, truck and cycle “Cruise Ins.”

They meet Mondays from 5 to 9 p.m. year round at the Wendy’s Restaurant on Illinois 47 in Morris. This free event is open to the public.

wether you have an antique vehicle or not.

We also have “ Car Cruises” for scenic trips along historic Route 66 and also along the beautiful Illinois river to  Starved Rock State Park and Buffalo Rock State Park in Utica, and other places in the summer and fall. Other events in the past have been concerts in the lot , movies, and more.
