DWIGHT, Ill. — Ellen Louise Hulbert, 80, of Dwight, Ill., passed away at 10:39 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Heritage Health in Dwight.
Born Jan. 25, 1933, in Morris, Ill., Ellen was a daughter of Karl Simon and Grace (Quigley) Davies. She was a graduate of Mazon High School with the Class of 1952, and was a homemaker and correctional officer at Dwight Correctional Center for eight years. She was a past member of the Methodist Church in Mazon, Ill.
Survivors include one son, Gary (Lou Ann) Hulbert of Monticello, Ind.; two daughters, Pam (Mike) Grieff of Mazon, and Debbi Hulbert of Cornell, Ill.; five sisters, Lila Wright, Grace Davies, Marion Campbell, Janet DeLaurier, and Rose Marie Jewett; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ellen in death were her parents; three sons, Patrick L. Hulbert, Bradley Hulbert, and Gerald Hulbert; three sisters, Vivian Mount, Laurel Shaw, and Joyce Smith; and three brothers, Earl Davies, Simon Davies and Robert Davies.
Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, Ill. A memorial service followed at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Dr. Rev. Ray Owens officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
