Ziegler charged in wake of crash

Minooka mother cited for DUI, endangering lives of children

MINOOKA — A Minooka woman was charged with DUI-drugs following the single-vehicle accident in Minooka that sent her and her five children to the hospital with minor injuries Friday.

Rickee L. Ziegler, 33, was also charged with five counts of endangering the life of a child.

According to Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer, Ziegler was eastbound on Prairie View Drive around 3:15 p.m. Friday when she lost control of her vehicle as she tried to turn too quickly onto Levato Lane and crashed into two trees.

Ziegler and her five children -- aged one, three, four, eight and 12 -- were taken to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center to be treated for minor cuts and bruises, Meyer said.

Ziegler posted bond and was released.
