GARDNER, Ill. — Mrs. Marlene A. (Allen) Chapman, 75, of Gardner, Ill., passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Morris Hospital in Morris, Ill.

Born Aug. 13, 1937, in South Wilmington, Ill., to the late Glenn “Pete” and Lenora (Wilson) Allen, Marlene attended the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, Ill. She enjoyed shopping and playing bingo, and loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Chapman of Gardner, whom she married Oct. 27, 1956, in South Wilmington; four children, Tammy Lenzie of Gardner, Bryan Chapman of Gardner, Michele (Pete) Residori of South Wilmington, and Shawn (Jodi) Chapman of Coal City, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Katie (fiancé Cody Mack) Lenzie and Laura Lenzie, Breanne and Brad Chapman, Haley Residori, and Nate, Ryan, and Brooke Chapman; one great-grandson, Talon Mack; a sister, Jean (Bob) Thorson of Dwight, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Darlene (Karl) Lutz.

Private funeral services will be held. R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, 401 E. Main St., Braidwood, is entrusted with the arrangements. Interment will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
