Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is being sued by a man who obtained injuries while under the hospital’s care.
Gregory Lindsley was admitted to Morris Hospital for an acute leg fracture from July 20 to Aug. 6, 2011.
According to the case filed last month in the Grundy County Circuit Clerk’s office, upon Lindsley’s discharge he suffered from a fractured wrist he did not have before being admitted to the hospital, and he had respiratory failure.
The case states the hospital and its employees allegedly were negligent, causing him to be severely and permanently injured requiring medical care and continued care.
Lindsley will be “hindered from attending to his usual duties and affairs,” according to the file.
He also suffered pain and anguish, and is liable for medical care.
He claims the hospital was negligent in monitoring him, failed to call for appropriate consultations, did not provide adequate fall protection for him, and over medicated him.
The case cites two counts and Lindsley is suing for at least $50,000 for each count.
