The Grundy County Health Department’s Medical Reserve Corps will host a free Health, Wellness, and Preparedness Fair Oct. 12.
Open to the public and held at Morris Community High School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the fair will offer free health screenings, activities for children, giveaways, chair massages, raffles and much more.
“This fair will provide one-stop shopping for area residents to get more information on a wide range of topics such as diabetes, disaster preparedness, and senior services that are important to families,” says Mike Boyle, interim administrator of the Grundy County Health Department.
Businesses that provide health and wellness services that are interested in exhibiting should contact fair organizer Jamie Viebach at (815) 941-6818 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This free event is offered with support from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The Medical Reserve Corps was founded in 2002 as a way for individuals and organizations to volunteer in support of their communities. It is a specialized component of Citizen Corps, a national network of volunteers dedicated to ensuring hometown security.
Citizen Corps, along with AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and the Peace Corps promote volunteerism and service nationwide.
