Two hospitalized, one cited after accident

Drivers of both vehicles involved in an accident at U.S. 52 and Line Road around 12:30 p.m. Monday were transported to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Kendall County sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection following a two-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, they learned Melissa F. Cortes, 18, of Joliet, was northbound on Line Road when she failed to yield at the intersection and pulled onto U.S. 52 in front of a westbound vehicle driven by Lois M. Delaney, 85, of 14132 Church Road, Minooka.

Delaney was unable to avoid colliding with Cortes’ vehicle. As a result, Cortes was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.

Minooka EMS transported both Cortes and Delaney to Saint Joe’s.
