Bass tournament set to cast off in Seneca

Event features prizes up to $2,500

SENECA – Area fishermen are encouraged to get their fishing gear ready for a bass tournament Sept. 15 in Seneca.

The village of Seneca and the Seneca Parks and Recreation Board are teaming up to host this event.

There will be two-person teams with an entry fee of $100 per team.

If you register the day of event, the fee will be $105 per team.

Participants can register at the Seneca Village Hall, 340 N. Cash St., or mail Village Hall, Box 27, Seneca, IL 61360.

The event and registration will be based at the Seneca LST Memorial Boat Launch, 200 E. South St., Seneca.

There will be a mandatory rules meeting at 5:30 a.m. The launch will be at 6:30 a.m. Weigh-in will be at 3:30 p.m.

There is an optional big bass pot of $10. River pools will consist of the Des Plaines River, Marseilles Pool and the Ottawa Pool.

With 40 entries, there will be guaranteed prizes of $2,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, $750 for third place, $350 for fourth place, $250 for fifth place and $150 for sixth place.
