Motorcycle crash fatal to Channahon man

Elsinga died from injuries sustained Sunday night

CHANNAHON – A motorcyclist died Sunday after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned on Front Street.

Brian A. Elsinga, 31, of Channahon, was declared dead at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center’s emergency room at 8:23 p.m. Sunday, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy done Monday showed preliminary results that his death and injuries were due to a motorcycle crash, according to the coroner’s office. Final cause of death will come after toxicology reports are returned.

Elsinga’s motorcycle left the roadway and overturned while he was traveling on Front Street, west of Frontage Road, in Channahon Township.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.

The visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave., Orland Park. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Tinley Park Reformed Church.
