Tuesday was the first day to pull petitions for Grundy County offices up for election in the March 18, primary.
Grundy County clerk, sheriff and treasurer offices are up for election, as are Grundy County Board seats in Districts 1, 2 and 3, and precinct committeemen positions.
Democrat and Republican candidates can pick up petition packets at the county clerk’s office inside the Grundy County Courthouse.
The petition filing dates will be Nov. 25, through Dec. 2.
Independent and new political party candidates can pick up petition packets beginning March 25.
As of Wednesday, Democrats who have pulled for offices are incumbent Treasurer Marcy Miller, incumbent Sheriff Kevin Callahan and, for county clerk, current Deputy Clerk Kay Olson. Current County Clerk Lana Phillips is retiring after her term.
The Republicans who have pulled are Kenneth Briley for sheriff, Ronald Marx for sheriff, Lori Werden for treasurer, and Mary Michael Roth has pulled a packet, but has not specified whether it is for clerk, treasurer or sheriff.
The only Democrat who has pulled for a County Board position so far is incumbent Richard Joyce for District 3.
Three Republicans have pulled petitions: Clark Barkley and incumbents John Almer for District 2 and Millie Dyer for District 1.
