Leona Grace Miller, 83, of Sandwich, Ill., passed peacefully at her home on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.
She was born May 18, 1930, in Aurora, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Rachael (Severson) Thompson. On Feb. 20, 1954, she married her dance partner for life, Donald J. Miller in Barrington, Ill.
Leona enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Aurora Moose.
She is survived by two sons, Kim (Denise) Miller of Sugar Grove, Ill., and Kevin (Cindy) Miller of Plano, Ill.; two grandsons, Christopher S. of Oswego, Ill., and Peter J. of Sandwich; one sister, Phyllis Sandburg of Elburn, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews and her darling grandpuppy, Sunshine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Donald; four sisters, May, Ida, Lillian and Marian; and two brothers, Russell and Phillip.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home, 606 E. Arnold Road, Sandwich. Burial will follow in Pratts Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sandwich.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.
