Manley Jorstad

Mr. Manley Jorstad, 96, of Morris, Ill., passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2013, at Morris Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., Morris.

Born July 16, 1917, in Newark, Ill., he was the son of Floyd and Dora (Dominy) Jorstad. He graduated from Newark High School.

Manley married Charlotte Flatness at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris. They lived most of their married life in Danville, Ill., and Morris.

For several years he was sales manager for a corn company. Later, when he moved to Morris, he was employed in the real estate business with Century 21.

Survivor’s include one daughter, Dr. Donna (Dr. Thomas) Feld of Marion, Iowa; one grandson, William Feld of Marion, Iowa; one sister, Marjorie Anderson of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Charlotte, on June 29, 2005; one granddaughter, Jacqueline “J.J.” Feld, on Feb. 12, 2002; and three brothers, Wesley, Norman and Jerry Jorstad.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, J.J. Feld Endowed Scholarship Fund at Mount Mercy University at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
