Bond was set at $35,000 for a Minooka man charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

William J. Esposito, 37, was arrested by Minooka police Sept. 9 and is currently in the Grundy County Jail.

In court Friday afternoon, Judge Lance Peterson set Esposito's bond at 10 percent of $350,000 at the request of Mike Quinlan, Grundy County assistant state's attorney.

The victim of the alleged offense was under 13 years old, Quinlan said.

The judge asked Esposito if he was going to hire an attorney. Esposito replied he could not afford one. After looking at the defendant's information, Peterson said he may have to pay a portion of his attorney fees and appointed public defender JD Flood.

Esposito's next appearance will be with counsel at 10 a.m. Thursday
