Just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning a vehicle ran into the Morris Business and Technology Center, possibly due to the driver suffering from a medical condition.
Morris Deputy Chief John Severson said police were called at 7:19 a.m., when a vehicle ran into the front doors of the technology center at 1802 N. Division St. The driver was able to walk into the ambulance and no one else was injured, he said.
The driver struck a parked car at McDonald's and some shrubs before the vehicle went back onto Illinois 47, going north, and veered off the road again, running into the front doors of the technology center, said Severson.
"At this time, there is no evidence that he was impaired," Severson said.
Severson said it appears the driver, who was taken to Morris Hospital, may have had a medical issue that caused the accident.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle and the car was towed from the scene.
The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District was on scene and the Fire Marshal reported that the building received no structural damage, just damaged front doors, said Severson.
"It was very fortunate that his injuries were not major and no one else was hurt," he said.
Morris police are still investigating the incident.
