Paul A. Brown, 62, of Morris Ill., passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Morris Hospital with his family by his side after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born April 23, 1951, in Joliet, Ill., to the late Velma (nee Gammie) and Lowell T. Brown.
He had resided in Morris most of his married life. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dian (nee Johnson) Brown; two daughters, Hope Brown (fiance Brad Smith) and Star Brown (Eric Poole); proud Poppy of Carter and Hudson; four sisters, Cissy Leasure, Debra (Thomas) Lee, Barbara Brown and Kathy Hayward; two brothers, Earl (Lindsay) and Robert (Meli) Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Juanita Schubert.
He was employed at Caterpillar for 38 years and was a fan of NASCAR, the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Paul was a member of the Rod and Gun Club in Morris and the Machinist Union Local 851.
Funeral services for Paul Brown will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
