The 96th anniversary of the "Miracle of the Sun in Fatima" will be celebrated at noon Saturday by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in a Public Square Rosary Rally at the Morris Municipal Services Building.

From May 13 to Oct. 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared six times to three children in Fatima, Portugal. At the time of the apparitions, Lucia de Jesus, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, were 10, 9, and 7, respectively.

On the day of the last apparition, about 70,000 spectators witnessed what has been called the miracle of the sun.

Sponsored by America Needs Fatima, Saturday's event will be one of nearly 9,500 rallies that will be all over the United States on that special day.

Community members interested in attending should meet on the corner of Route 47 and Chapin Street; those in attendance will pray to end abortion, euthanasia, trafficking of children and other losses.
