COAL CITY – Coal City Middle School is going back in time to tell the story of a red-headed girl who was left at a New York City orphanage with a note and half of a silver locket.
An all student cast will present “Annie Jr.,” a one-hour stage show based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip, at 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $5 for adult and $3 for students. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning one hour prior to the show.
Jessica Leasure, a sixth-grader, appears in the title role of Annie, a spunky 11-year-old determined to find the parents who left her on the orphanage’s door steps in 1922.
The musical is directed by Jack Micetich with assistance from vocal director Sherfy Browing and choreography by Kim Scerine.
