Irma L. Fox

Irma L. Fox, 88, of Wilmington, Ill., and formerly of Morris, Ill., passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born March 30, 1925, in Joliet, Ill., Irma was a daughter of the late George and Clara Eich-Schneider. She was raised and educated in Joliet and on June 3, 1945, Irma married Harlow E. Fox in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Joliet. She retired from Personal Products after 20 years of service.

Survivors include her children, Gloria (Michael) Brown of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Curtis (Dawn) Fox of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Fox of Westmont and Kevin Fox of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Teagan, Lincoln and Parker Fox; sister, Doris (the late John) Smego of Joliet; brothers, John Schneider of Coal City, Ill., and James (Raquel) Schneider of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Schneider; brothers, Edward (Mildred) Berens, Francis (Marge) Berens and Lavern (Mardel) Schneider; her sister, Alice (Maurice) Ardaugh; great-granddaughter, Riley Fox; and her dear husband, Harlow.

The visitation and video tribute will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in Grace Lutheran Church, 907 Luther Drive in Wilmington. The Rev. Chris Beamsley will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Irma’s memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431, or to the Wilmington School District Foundation for Excellence, 209 Wildcat Court, Wilmington, IL 60481.
