Clara H. Norris

Clara H. Norris, 95, of Morris, Ill., passed away Monday evening, Oct. 14, 2013, at Morris Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Grace Lutheran Church, 10025 N. Route 47, with the Rev. Steven Heilmann officiating. Interment will follow in West Lisbon Cemetery. The visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Born Sept. 7, 1918, in Morris, she was the daughter of Albert and Julia (Foxford) Thompson. She received her education in the schools of Lisbon. She married Nelson Norris on Oct. 7, 1939, and they lived all of their married life in Grundy County.

Survivor’s include four daughters, Jule Ostrem of Hot Springs, Ark., Carol (Harold) Breen of Morris, Mary (William) Smith of Morris and Kathleen (Robert) Wills of Morris; one son, Richard (Paula) Norris of Morris; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice (Alden) Thompson of Morris; one sister-in-law, Christine Norris of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Nelson, on July 18, 1963; two sons-in-law, Paul Ostrem and Michael Wiechen; two sisters, Selma Harrington and Ethel Mickelson; and four brothers, Andrew, Adolph, Harold and LeRoy Thompson.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Clara enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Grace Lutheran Church.
