Four White Willow Polled Hereford’s from Morris has been entered in the beef division at the 40th annual North American International Livestock Exposition scheduled for Nov. 9 to 22 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.
Purebred farms from nearly every state and Canada bring livestock to compete in one of 10 expo divisions: dairy cattle, dairy goats, meat goats, beef cattle, cowboy mounted shooting, quarter horses, draft horses, sheep, swine and Ilamas and alpacas.
More than 200,000 American and International visitors attend the hundreds of individual breed shows, sales and events, according to a news release from event organizers. In addition to the recognition and prize money that comes with winning at the NAILE, the value of the champion breeding stock is significantly enhanced.
The expo also is home to youth events. Additionally, youth exhibitors enter market animals, those targeted for meat production, in the Junior Steer Show, Junior Market Swine Show or Junior Market Lamb Show. These youth shows are sponsored by Farm Credit Services of Mid-America. Champions from these shows are sold at the Sale of Champions at 6 p.m. Nov. 21.
