DIAMOND — Michael E. Ramme, 70, of Diamond, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Streator, Ill., to the late Donald and Edna Ramme.
Mike was a 40-year member of the Coal City Fire Protection District and EMS, Braidwood Mason, Heartland Dancers, Tav Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and previous member of GAVC in Morris. He owned and operated Ramme Buick GMC for many years and was a Chicago sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Karon Ramme; four children, Kirk Ramme of Florida, Jodie (Peter) Rock of Wilmington, Michael (Shannon) Ramme II of Diamond and Melisa Smith of Florida; eight grandchildren, Jolynda and Elizabeth Peterson, Alyssa Gramlich, Deaglan, Devereaux and Sebastian Ramme, and Maxine and Samantha Ramme; a sister, Donna Sciabbarrasi; a brother-in-law Jan (Donna) Trantina; a sister-in law-Lynne, Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Virgil and Evelyn Trantina; a brother-in-law Steve Stewart; and a granddaughter in infancy.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Funeral Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Dr.) in Coal City. Pastor Caleb Counterman will officiate. A Masonic service will be held at 5:30 p.m. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Dr.) in Coal City.
