Morris swimmers lose to Plainfield

Morris was defeated 134-36 by Plainfield Wednesday on the road in varsity girls swimming and diving.

Reilly Chytracek, Brooke Avila, Jennifer Ashley and Kelly Kolotka earned a second-place finish for Morris in the 200 free relay (1:52.4). Chytracek was second individually in the 200 free (2:14.5).

Morris relay teams consisting of Avila, Morgan Abraham, Ashley and Kolotka (2:17.6) in the 200 medley and Avila, Jadeah Spindler, Ashley and Kolotka in the 400 free (4:40.4) placed third. Third-place individuals were Ashley in the 200 IM (2:38.6) and Chytracek in the 500 free (6:12.8).

At the junior varsity level, Morris was defeated 111-53. Andrea Wydeveld, Miranda Starks, Nadia Guzman and Rylee Anderson were second in the 200 free relay (2:22) for Morris.

Nathan Guth passed to Jake Webb for a 25-yard touchdown last Friday for Morris (4-3) on its opening drive.

Keagan Sobol had a 20-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Joey Webb an 80-yard touchdown run later.

Sobol intercepted a pass for the Morris defense, and Micheal Feeney added a fumble recovery on special teams.

Shabbona 8

Baylee Newman, Mary Chellino and Rori Griffin scored 2 points each Tuesday for the Shabbona sixth-grade “A” team.

The Shabbona “B” team won 12-6 behind 6 points from Kearstin Arends.
