MORRIS — James A. Bryant, 66, of Morris, Ill., passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 27, 2013, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris, with Pastor Tom Logsdon officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Cemetery in Kouts, Ind.
Born Sept. 9, 1947, in Morris, he was the son of Morris and Blanche (Glenney) Bryant. He graduated from Newark High School with the class of 1965. He married Deanna Hanson on Sept. 4, 1980, in Morris. They lived all of their married life in Morris. James was employed for 30 years as a lineman with Illinois Bell Telephone Company and retired June 10, 1999. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna; five daughters, Chris (Jeff) Kasher of Diamond, Mechelle Moe of Chicago, Pamela Olson of Morris, Kim Olson of New Mexico, and Julie Coddington of Minneapolis, Minn.; one son, Josh (Athena) Moe of Plainfield; six grandchildren, Sara, Jessica, Nicholas, Mikaela, Sebastian and Sierra; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Dave) Eck of Macomb; and two nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, working outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
