Ruth E. (Hanon) Sole, 83, of Dwight, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2013, at Heritage Health, Dwight.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, until the time of her 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Hager Memorial Home, with the Rev. Ruth Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at South Side Cemetery in Pontiac, Ill.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer Association.
Ruth was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Gardner, Ill., to the late Francis Joseph and Faye Alice (Shoemacher) Hanon. She married Frederick Sole. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1986.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Donald) Konetski of Pontiac, Barbara (Ronald) Van Houten of Chenoa, Ill., John (Debbie) Sole of Marseilles, Ill., Tom Sole and Richard Sole, both of Dwight, James (Stacy) Sole of Alabama, Larry (Michelle) Sole of Oklahoma and William (Robert De Oliverra) Sole of Kankakee, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a devoted homemaker while her family was growing up. She and her husband, Fred, ran the Morris Yellow Cab service prior to moving to Dwight in 1976. She returned to work upon her Fred's passing. She worked for 17 1/2 years as a kitchen aide and retired from Heritage Manor in Dwight.
Her enthusiasm for others will always be remembered.
