Roberta M. James, 94, of Dwight, Ill. and formerly of Coal City, Ill., passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the Morris Hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Freeport, Ind., to the Late Albert and Sue Carlisle.
She was a member of The Coal City United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Laurence A. James and Gerald W. (Darlene A. Reardanz) James; four grandchildren, Gerald W. James Jr., Kenneth D. James, Christine A. (James) Dooley and Addie L. (Mathew) Dennis; six great-grandchildren, Thomas Dennis, Samuel Dennis, Emily Dooley, Ellen Dooley, Jacob James and Nicholas James; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 74 years, Edward A. James on Dec. 2, 2011; a brother, Alfred Carlisle; and a sister, Marietta Henke.
Funeral Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon officiated with interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
The visitation was from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the services at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. Online guest book available at www.ferrarifuneral.com.
